Move over traditional flooring choices- Affordable bamboo flooring is here to take centre stage. It has many advantages. Its high durability, strength, and sturdiness make it an ideal choice for high-traffic areas. Add to this, the affordability factor and it can be your go-to option if the climate in your city supports it.
Once you have decided upon this option, you will be curious about the bamboo flooring installation cost. There are many factors that can determine the final cost of bamboo flooring, such as the type of finish, the area to be covered, the quality, installation mechanism, thickness, and much more. Apart from that, there are a few more cost considerations to include, such as the cost of pre-existing floor removal, subfloor installation, addition of insulation to the flooring, and the labour cost of a professional flooring installer.
There are different finishes available for the bamboo flooring:
- Satin-Matt Lacquered Finish: Sufficiently durable | Gives A slight shine to the flooring while retaining the anti-slip properties | Protects from daily wear & tear

FAQs
1. Is bamboo flooring suitable for the kitchen & laundry?
Bamboo flooring is indeed suitable for the kitchen and laundry room (high-moisture areas) if you buy the waterproof variety (~engineered bamboo with eucalyptus core or solid bamboo). It is highly resistant to typical household spills or damp mopping, provided they are cleared up immediately. However, it isn’t suitable for bathrooms as such.
2. How to install bamboo wood flooring?
- Glue-down method: This is the most difficult installation method. It requires professional experience and can be used on a wooden or concrete subfloor with special floor adhesive.
- The Floating Method is the most popular installation method. It requires a click-and-lock mechanism (DIY) and can be used on a wooden or concrete subfloor with underlayment.
- The Nail-Down Method is used only for solid bamboo flooring with a subfloor. It is less difficult to install than the glue-down method but more difficult than the floating method (not DIY).
3. Does bamboo flooring impact the indoor air quality?
Bamboo is a flooring material that can substantially improve the air quality inside your home. It effectively lessens the absorption of allergens and other contaminants.
